Not a believer
...in American Idol. What is the appeal of this show? I've been trying so hard to watch it and like it, but gag. No thanks!

9.5 days
Hard to believe that last time I posted, I had just enjoyed 5 days off of school due to ice. Now, here we are at the end of May, anxiously awaiting summer vacation!! This year has truly tested my patience and demanded continuing education in educating. Hopefully, it has made me a better teacher and at the least, hopefully a better mother later on down the road. One thing I definitely understand is this: denial gets you nowhere. It's like when your parents used to tell you that "honesty is always the best policy." At times I've questioned whether or not that was truly the best. Sometimes a little fib prevents people from getting their feelings hurt. After all, does someone REALLY need to know that you don't really like their shoes? But, in the case of parenting, I think little fibs turn into severe denial, and consequently neglect to your child. I'll hop off my teacher soapbox now and just be understanding that not everyone gets this/feels the same way.
Summer will bring some change and fun! Moving apartments, taking more grad school classes, and planning for next year with a new teammate! All things that will hopefully start a positive change. After college,I think it's hard to get stuck in a rut and realize that things technically don't HAVE to change. In college you're used to the bi-annual/annual change. Whether schedule change, location change, lifestyle change, there's always some sort of change. Then you somehow graduate, become adult-ish, and things start to slow down. Life slows down, beverage consumption increases, and the worries fly :) So needless to say, a good scenery change every couple of years is good for the soul and I will welcome mine with open arms.
Counting down the days to: nice weather, sleeping in, new apartment, getting organized, getting rid of old junk, MEXICO, time with friends, post-9:00 bedtimes, concerts, patios, pool time/fun in the sun, and lastly just RELAXING and enjoying life. 9.5! The light is shining brighter and brighter...
